Welcome to the SensualShape, a website dedicated to the art of Richard Jaworowski. Whether it is the sensuous expression of the human form, or the curve of an abstract piece, Richard's work resonates with an inherent sensual power.
Richard has been a sculptor for over 30 years, and he carves primarily in Vermont marble. He also uses the medium of wood, and has recently produced several exceptional pieces of carved mahogany. Richard's sculptures are included in many public and private collections throughout the United States, including the Museum of Art and Science in Daytona Beach, Florida; KPMG Peat Marwick in Hartford and Stamford, Connecticut; Baystate Medical Center in Massachusetts; and the University of Connecticut Medical Center.
It is an honor to bring the wonder of Richard's work to a wider audience through the internet. Use the 'Contents' tab above to browse the many galleries. Within the galleries you will find mahogany sculpture, marble sculpture, carved wood wall-hangings, and pen and ink drawings. Some gallery pages may be slow to load; I wanted to keep the quality of the images high and therefore did not compress them. Included in the galleries are several pages of images from Richard's highly successful show at the Babbidge Library, Stevens Gallery, at the University of Connecticut in 2005.
Also included in 'Contents' are two links that show the artist engaged in the
creative process. By following these links and images, you can actually see the
marble change under the hand of the sculptor as he pursues his vision in stone.
If you want to purchase a marble or wood sculpture for your home, garden or office, please use the "Contact Us" link to:
- discuss an original commission in wood or marble
- check on current pieces being developed
- review the availability and price of completed original pieces
- discuss or propose a future exhibition or gallery show
Richard will be glad to contact you and discuss your needs and desires.
Having a marble is an incredible experience; it has an emotional presence and begs to be touched. Celebrate the beauty and experience it for yourself.
